CoAsia CM, Hana Optronics Collaborate on Commercialization of ToF 3D Sensing Camera Modules

CoAsia CM (KOSDAQ: 196450), a leading advanced optical solutions company, is moving forward with the commercialization of ToF (Time-of-Flight)-based 3D sensing camera modules.
The company announced that, through its wholly owned subsidiary CoAsia CM Korea, it is pursuing joint development and mass-production cooperation with Hana Optronics, a specialized ToF semiconductor company, for ToF camera modules. The ToF camera module jointly developed by the two companies has completed sample delivery for products to be applied to the supply chain of a global robotics project, and is currently undergoing customer evaluation for volume production.
The two companies are currently in the final stages of discussions regarding a mass-production agreement and plan to strengthen their business partnership through the expansion of additional projects following the initial production program. This collaboration focuses on realizing next-generation 3D sensing solutions by combining CoAsia CM's optical lens and camera module technologies with Hana Optronics' core ToF semiconductor technologies.
Based on its vertically integrated capabilities to design and manufacture both optical lenses and camera modules, CoAsia CM is expanding its role from a simple module supplier to a provider of systems incorporating perception and recognition functions. Hana Optronics delivers precise spatial recognition capabilities based on its ToF optical transmitter (TX) semiconductors and distance measurement technologies. In particular, the company possesses proprietary ToF light source and sensor design technologies, enabling it to respond competitively to a wide range of industrial 3D sensing environments.
ToF technology calculates distance and depth information by measuring the time it takes for light to travel to an object and return after reflection. It is a core technology that enables robots and AI systems to recognize surrounding environments in three dimensions. Recently, its adoption has expanded across various applications, including humanoid robots, industrial robots, smart factories, autonomous driving systems, and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), drawing attention as a next-generation vision technology.
This project is particularly meaningful as it demonstrates that CoAsia CM's robotics and Physical AI business strategy has entered the commercialization validation stage through its connection with an actual customer project. Leveraging the design and manufacturing expertise accumulated through its smartphone-focused optical business, the company is expanding into non-mobile markets such as 3D sensing, AI vision, and robotics.
